Your public health agency provides a wide variety of services to the residents of
Louisa County - registered nurses and home health aides, who take care of individuals
in their homes, homemakers who provide assistance in the home, immunization clinics for
children and adults, blood pressure clinics, follow-up on communicable diseases and
teaching educational programs in the community. The loan closet has medical equipment
available for county residents to use.
The State of Iowa has imposed stricter guidelines regarding the vaccines we used for childhood immunizations.
The vaccine we have available is for children with no insurance or children with insurance that does not pay
for vaccines or children on Medicaid. Parents need to call their insurance companies to check vaccine
coverage and if their policy does not pay for vaccines we can administer the vaccine. We do ask for a $5
donation per vaccine to cover administration cost.
